The Czech winners of 2010, OpavaNet, ranked fifth after the mountain run.
Thrilling race
Two teams were fighting for the lead in a thrilling competition: Virgo X-Pro paraglider Markus Prantl (Italy) overtook Lorenz Peer (Team Rossignol, Austrialpin, Kohla) and handed over to the multiple Austrian kayak champion Gerhard Schmid. In the rapids of Bregenzerach river, Schmid was able to extend the lead of his team. He finished 1:30 minutes ahead of Austrian white water vice world champion Manuel Filzwieser. The big showdown came with the last leg of the unofficial world championship in outdoor sports – mountain biking: The former world champion Massimo Debertolis (Italy) started 1:30 minutes behind multiple outdoortrophy champion Hannes Pallhuber (Italy) and tried to chase him. But Pallhuber was too fast: He finished first, securing the new record time of three hours, thirty minutes and ten seconds for his team Virgo X-Pro – more than three minutes faster than last year’s record time! Debertolis came in 6:05 minutes after the winning team, the French Salzkammergut-Trophy-winner Thomas Dietsch secured the third place for Team Red Bull. Landrover Team Hörburger came in fourth, followed by the Czech team OpavaNet.
